I do it online and the first slot is 5:30 on Tuesday. Fine. Yes, it's rush hour and it would not be my first choice if I was going to run around in Almost Uptown, but, hey, not my problem.
Today somebody calls from way far away to confirm the time, address and phone number. I confirm the house and street, but they want the whole goddamned address I already typed into their website. Then they spell my email address back to me and switch a couple of letters. PIA, but I guess they maybe get a lotta fake calls?
A half hour later, the actual local who is doing the estimate calls. "Are you going to be around earlier in the day?"
"Yes," I said, but I have an appointment (at to get a haircut) at 1:00."
"How about 1:30?" the local sez.
"Uhm, no." It's close, but that's too close.
"Two?"
I'm thinking I really need to clean off more of my desk so I have enough space to bang my head on it.
