If salami is the blog of cured meats, then prosciutto is the great novel. A salami requires anywhere from 20 to 120 days to cure, making it popular with chefs who want to put their house-made stamp on a rustic appetizer. But the best prosciutto requires 8 to 24 months to transform the salt-covered hind leg of a pig into a $35-per-pound luxury, a rosy meat that, when thinly sliced, is a complex, faintly salty delicacy that dissolves into richness on the tongue. $39 MSP to Midway Yesterday
Feb. 1st, 2009 08:22 amWith the arrival of Southwest airlines, they put out a cheap fare between Mpls and Midway. It was $39 each way + $3.60 or so in taxes and fees. The fare ended last night. If you want to watch Southwest cheap fares, install Ding.
Leaving from the Humphrey (charter) Terminal is fun compared to the Lindberg (although thecruising people watching isn't nearly as good). Short to no lines, and a relaxed atmosphere. Of course, you can't toe tap at the Larry Craig Tearoom or shop at the Lindberg concourse. (On the other hand, I rarely go to the airport to shop.)
