U.S. Group Reaches Deal to Provide Laptops to All Libyan Schoolchildren

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 10 — The government of Libya reached an agreement on Tuesday with One Laptop Per Child, a nonprofit United States group developing an inexpensive, educational laptop computer, with the goal of supplying machines to all 1.2 million Libyan schoolchildren by June 2008. More.


Are we not talking about Qaddafi here? And here I thought he ate two children for breakfast every day. Won't this make them awfully crunchy?

No, Bush filled up his quota for the Axis of Evil, so Qaddafi has been declared a good guy now.

More to the point, we've got a LOT of schoolkids HERE (think Appalachia, Ozarks, Native American Reservations that lack casinos) that could really use a laptop....so we're sending them off THERE why exactly?
