Jan. 31st, 2002 02:24 pmGot the beta copy of Microsoft Project today. It was sitting outside my door as I dashed madly off to work. Madly because I was late as usual. Ordered laser checks for MNSTF. Tried to do it once before and the transaction failed. I've waited just to make sure it didn't sneak past and suddenly I'm inundated with five years worth of checks.
Ran out and bought an HP 2200dse printer last night. Still have not gotten it to spit out a page. USB printers seem to bite. And the parallel cable I've got I'm sure is not up to the new standard. Grump, grump, grump. At least when it does print, there should not be a line down each page where there's no toner, and it duplexes at 1200 dpi. It's bigger than the old 4L it replaced, and my plywood desk has become small again. Guess I can give up the floppies I've got stuck in a case. They're not working, other than to hold junk up off the desk. On the other hand, the new printer isn't working either, but I suspect that's easier than fixing the old floppies (it's gotta be the cable). At least when I get the checks, I should be able to print them.. ifn I buys a new cable tonight, or maybe even read the manual. First HP printer I've ever had to futz around with though. (I did bid on a few on eBay, but lost the bids. I was trying for color lasers, but I really don't need one of those. Bought a POS LexMark Z51 a few years ago. The cartridges cost a fortune and suck besides.)
