Just love support letters that begin: "Larry, the issue that you are describing is one that we have recently become aware of. Other customers have reported the difficulties that you are experiencing and we are currently researching the issue." Die, Norton, die, die die.

Is that Norton as in "antivirus"? I've been recommending to relatives, etc. that they not use Norton. It seems like it just wrenches itself into the heart of the computer, functions incorrectly and then refuses to properly uninstall itself. I usually recommend one of the free programs from Pricelessware instead.

This was System Works, and Go-Back in particular. Apparently there's a few bugs. Big ones. Still, it's better than the one I once got from Microsft: "If you have not reformatted your hard drive yet, try this..."

Well, it's better than...

... "Larry, you are the only person on the planet to report this issue. Please obtain updated drivers from the manufacturer of each component in your computer and spend the weekend updating them all. Don't forget to upgrade the BIOS while you're at it. We are confident this will take care of your problem."
