I ran out to the scandihoovian store for several varieties of herring. Next is Ikea, and then I've got to think about spoiled milk products. I left a voice mail message with my spoiled milk connection, but have not arranged time for a visit yet. I should hoist my butt up in the attic and run some speaker wire... Or bust out the butter and throw together some shortbread. Oops, I forgot to get fresh baking powder, not that there's any way to tell you put any in, but it is required by the recipe. On the other hand, I could just move more junk to where it properly belongs.

Is the spoiled milk product to which you are referring filmjölk? If so, where on earth can you get it? I've been craving it for the longest time, but never have found any.

Herring. SIGH. The guys won't let me have herring in the house past 12/26, and my father fell down on his herring-acquiring job this Christmas.

Stop by on Sunday. If you're early, there will be herring. (Even if you're late, there may be herring.)

Your spoiled milk connection will be at the store from 10 to 630pm tomorrow(friday) and 8 am to 4pm on Saturday. It will all be crazy but earlier will be less so, unless you don't mind the crowds in which case come when you like.

Reminds me of the little snippet of a scene from "Numb3rs" a couple of weeks ago. They were doing an arson-based show and when one of the professors whipped out a pack of cigarettes during the practical experiment he was questioned, "Where'd you get a cigarette?" to which he answered, "I know a guy."

"Where'd you get that spoiled milk product?"

"I know a guy."

(For values of guy that are, well, not guys, you know?)
