Sadly lacking in good blackmail material, I've transferred the tape I shot at the WFC over to the laptop today. Then, because I'd taken a couple of shots using the camcorder's camera, I spent an incredible amount of time trying to download the (2) pictures from it for the DVD. The Sony website has incredibly helpful (not) FAQs that tell you what to do, but don't quite tell you how to be in the situation where you can do it. My standard picture card reader does not like the Sony Memory Stick. I'd finally found the camcorder manual on Sony's website, right about when I kicked myself after hooking the camera USB up to the laptop again, and while searching for it, noticed the Memory Stick port on the laptop. D'oh. Smack, Smack, Smack.

I missed an excellent piece from Jane Yolen discussing "frisson" at a panel yesterday morning, where they got rather carried away with the ending of the word. I, of course, set the camera down and stopped recording shortly before they started the piece.

The Sony software that does the fast transfer isn't quite up to the task of boosting the audio. I don't think the Sharyn November singing is quite loud enough, nor does the Elise, TNH, & (?) sound quite loud enough.

I tried out the body monopod I've got up in the room, but decided I looked too silly for words with it. Then I spent Saturday night wandering around at the 6th floor parties instead of heading back down to the music party.

As usual, I also found the convention sadly lacking in nekkid men.
