Lee made a lovely romesco sauce -- garlic, red peppers, pine nuts, and a bunch of other stuff pureed together, with cucumber and red bell pepper to dip. (He's supposed to send the recipe to [livejournal.com profile] lollardfish so anyone else interested should speak up).

Oysters, breaded (with cornmeal) and fried, served over a bed of mixed greens with a pumpkin seed oil vinaigrette. Yummy.

Duck soup with cream, amontillado, fennel, peas, and fresh sage. Enough fat to choke a horse, but delicious, if I may say so myself.

Chanterelles (from Costco!! $8.00/lb !!!) with a lovely cream sauce including bacon, leeks, and sage, over toast.

Rioja sorbet w/ a touch of lavender, as a palate cleanser.

The show piece of the night was the absolutely fabulous pumpkin gnocchi concocted by [livejournal.com profile] buttonlass with assistance from [livejournal.com profile] lollardfish. This was served with a coulis of pumpkin seed oil, and a sprinkling of toasted walnuts. I know there was cheese involved here (grated on top), but I don't know what kind.

Next was an excellent cheese plate. I ate lots. I don't remember what kind it was, other than the Good kind. It came with fig bread. Which was really good. I ate lots of that, too.

We finished off with an experimental ice cream sundae. Good vanilla with pumpkin seed oil poured over it. It was actually pretty good. Most diners chose to apply a dollop of homemade hot fudge, as well; while others of us -- namely me, proceeded to experiment with a variety of toppings such as the Amaretto Cream liquer. It was ALL good.

Wine, of course was involved. I will leave it to [livejournal.com profile] lee_os or Larry to elaborate on this part of the meal.
