It's warm again today...
Jul. 17th, 2005 01:16 pm93 degrees fondly Fahrenheit, and, did I mention, humid?
My master plan went somewhat astray last night. I ended up leaving the reception around 11:00, later than I'd planned.
The food last night was a chinese banquet at the Seafood Palace.
It was served in courses
First course was tangerine beef, shrimp, and BBQ pork with tomatoes and tripe
Hmm, might have been something here...
Second course: Seafood medly served in some kinda crunchy baskets
Third course: Lobster
Fourth course: Quail
Fifth course Chicken
Sixth course: Crispy Fish
Seventh course: Beef with rabe
Eight course: Fried rice
Ninth course Fruit and Wedding Cake
(And I may have missed one or two things in this list...)
The bride and groom changed clothes durring the reception. The bride put on a stunning bright red with gold trim dress and hat at one point. I've got it on video, but I don't think I caught it on a picture. There was some kind of role play exchange where Thuy put on the surcoat from the red & gold outfit, but I lost it in the language.
Probably the most Vietnamese dresses I've seen here in the TC... I had a good time even if I could not speak the language.
Cash, not presents, seems the norm at these things. Must remember for the next one.
Beverages: Heiniken and Asti... one bottle for the toast. Thi tried to make me do the toast, but I opened the champagne bottle instead.
