Jackson...

I was surprised at the wingnuts rant about Jackson's 'obvious' guilt on the blogs I read. They're all omniscient, and would prefer a nice lynching to a trial by jury. They can all instantly recognize guilt and just as quickly come up with punishment for it. Amazing.

Once is an incident.
Twice is a coincidence.
Three times is enemy action.

I also suspect

That where there are golddiggers, sometimes veins are found, regardless of what's getting pounded.

I also think, from perfect hindsight, that the case was too weak for a court, and should have been thrown out.

Yes; I wish more people would consider the possibility that a grown up might simply enjoy the company of children for the sake of harking back to the spirit of his own childhood.

When I watched Finding Neverland with my room mate recently, she told me of reading a biography of Barrie that suggested he was a pedophile. I said, 'Says who?' and pointed out that gossip is gossip, and it's easy to say anything about someone who isn't around to state his own case. I was gratified by the movie itself; it portrayed Barrie as a playful, imaginative adult who was able to exercise these traits more freely in the company of children.

Um, there's a BIG difference between hanging out with kids (which I enjoy) and sleeping with unrelated children in the same bed, especially after allegations have been made about your behavior with said children.

I'm not saying Jackson is innocent, just that it's a possibility. I see too many people rushing to judgment on innuendo and unproven allegations.

And I see too many people camped out in front of the courthouse declaring just as fervently that he is innocent.

Yeah; that's just as bad. It's lucky there are a few people out there interested in getting at the evidence and determining the facts.

Ya I don't get how he could be sooo clueless that that was not socially acceptable here.

But I also thought the case was week and the kids weren't consistent which makes beyond a reasonable doubt that he's more then a metal case hard to get a conviction.

Jackson didn't have a childhood. That's why he lives as one now.

Yeah, I've gotta agree...I don't get this whole fascination and investiture that Americans seem to feel with every show trial. We don't get all the facts, yet we somehow feel sure we know what the truth is. I say, leave it to the jury and don't worry about it.
