I just set the SMOFs list to no mail. It's as if the volumn has been turned down. My e-mail will be a drama free zone for three weeks. At least I'm declaring it so.

Yeah, it's getting a bit tiresome, being made to feel like I'm to blame for things I've had no control over... but at least, this way I know what people are saying. ;)
