lsandersonI started watching Troy last night on DVD. Somehow, I missed it at the theaters.
1. I did not know the ancient Greeks spoke with an Englishie accent.
2. Brad Pitt should not try Jack Nicholson screen shots -- at least not with his clothes on.
3. Orlando Bloom looks quite good with his clothes off.
5. Curse that bed.
6. Fast-forward is your friend.
7. It's OK for Thetis to gather shells, but not for Paris to judge beauty.
8. Achilles and Patroclas did not just dick around with wooden swords - if you're going to be homoerotic, you might want to think about it.

Date: 2005-03-16 02:45 pm (UTC)You haven't watched enough Biblical epics. Everyone in antiquity spoke with an English accent.
(This is something that bothered me about the TV series Hercules and Xena, until I got used to it. Obviously, not the slightest attempt was being made to make the characters look or sound Greek, but the fallback should be to make 'em English.)
