    You probably have not:
    1. Grown up on a farm in North Dakota.
    2. Worked at the Max Planck Institute for Eggwhite and Leather Resarch in Munich.
    3. Seen an opera in the BRF recording booth in Munich.
    4. Seen Rudolph Nureyev and Margot Fonteyn dance Swan Lake at Covent Garden.
    5. Ran up to a friend to translate some Mahler text to discover the tall, statuesque blond was a man at the Munich Opera.
    6. Stood to hear Birgett Nielsen sing Wagner in Munich.
    7. Flunked fourth quarter honors calculus.
    8. Seen an elk on the southern hay meadow outside New Rockford, ND. Hmm, that may have been a pronghorn, not an elk.
    9. Been in the nest of either an eagle or very large hawk with eaglettes or hawkettes.
    10. Went to a one-room country school for the first eight grades.

[livejournal.com profile] musicmutt slept in an eagle's nest; dunno if there were little birdlings in it at the time.

I think the little birdlings were long gone at the time he nested there.

I certainly haven't done any of those things. Isn't it interesting to discover the variety of experiences people can have?

I've seen elk in people's front yards in Banff.

Where's New Rockford?

My sister gets her front (and back) yard full of moose. She lives on a mountain near Evergreen Colorado. It's the baby llamas up the road that I like.

Number 4 leaves me green with envy. I have however seen Baryshnikov (no matter how I spell that it looks wrong) dance, in person.

Also saw Nureyev dance his own choreography in Zurch, where we almost walked out -- we foolishly said that if they joined hands, danced in a circle and kicked, we'd leave... it was the next thing they did. Besides the main ballerina tripping over the too flowing costumes, it had few comic moments.
