Flew back from DC last night. Worse than someone in my seat when I replaned at Midway, young lady in my seat with a two year old. Plane was full coming from DC but mostly emptied out. I ran out to grab a sandwich. Gate was packed. Sigh. When I got back on, much to-ing and fro-ing of stews and people. Apparently something glitched, and one guy may have gotten removed from the plane. At least one guy was on the plane that wasn't the right one. Rode back from midway on the window with the young lady and the youg boy (who slept almost all the way but wasn't very cooperative until we were ready to leave Midway). They bounced one person up to business, but not the mother with child. Sigh.

Whilst at SMOFcon, I went on a tour of DC with [livejournal.com profile] birdfigment and [livejournal.com profile] azure_armand. We went to try out a pasta place just the other side of the capitol, but it was closed until 5:00 on Sunday (which was about when I started wandering off to the airport). We strolled around the area, which looked like a cross between Dinkytown and Chicago, then gave up and went back to their second choice, which was a Mexican place close to where they live. [livejournal.com profile] birdfigment hit the best with a dark plate of mole. It was aromatically spiced more than peppered, but it was really really good. [livejournal.com profile] azure_armand did tacos, and I did eggs with salsa. All in all, we wuz pleased. I could have used a bloody mary, but that's a whole other issue.

I saw [livejournal.com profile] tammylc for about thiry seconds whilst she was playing scrabble. Went to fish with Mike, Seth, Sharon, and Dave to a really good small restaurant a few blocks from the hotel. Talked with [livejournal.com profile] erikvolson in the consuite.

The consuite had a lot of food, including fresh crab. It was novel to be able to put a lid on the crab at a SMOFing session.

Friday, I helped [livejournal.com profile] gerisullivan wrap gifts for the timetravel event. It was a great mixer, with ice cream and blackberries and a whole lot of other toppings. It kept down the traffic in the consuite, which was a wee bit small for the smoffers. I crashed before it was over.

Grant and I wuz going to eat, but then we helped Geri carry things down to the ballroom and then stayed to help put it up.

Forgot the camera at home, so no pics from this trip.

My favorite panels wuz on media and IP rights, and one on dealing with tough situations. Not that I expect to face any now that I have obtained a state of total gafiation.

Many thanks for your help wrapping the weird prizes, and for all of the set-up help, too. Much appreciated.

Most welcome. It was a great mixer.
