There's a light dusting of snow on the ground, blue sky, and bright sunlight. Laura Jean, David, and I went out last night to see The Incredibles at Southdale. Learning to walk again on ice. It seemed almost as if winter had forgotten us this year. Afterwards, we stopped at Cafe Barbettes for wine, food, and smoffing. I'm trying to decide if I am going to ConFusion this year. Last year, getting from the airport to the hotel consumed half a day.

Meanwhile, there's a roaring fire in the fireplace and Thong's made chicken soup for breakfast. The espresso machine is hot and ready to go. It could be worse, I could be upstairs painting the trim.

Re. Fusion - it's not a regular occurance for us to get a snowstorm on Friday. That was the first time in about 5 years, I think, that we had enough snow to cause delays. January has typically been pretty dry in recent years, last year excepted.

Just an FYI - would be nice to see you there, but I'll understand if you opt not.

You're missing all the subtext and allegory! ;-) I realize it probably does not storm every ConFusion.

Geri, Laura Jean, David and I wuz talking about it the last time we went to Barbettes. It seemed an appropriate topic for the day of Geri's house warming in Wales, which we missed.

You're too subtle for us, Larry.

Maybe we can get someone else to do the shopping this time. :-)

Since I'm driving and getting there quite early, I would be happy to do any shopping that you may require. Since you want to do a music party, will you want the Minicon party to be on Saturday? If so, then I'll be shopping for the Midwestcon party on Friday.

This sounds all quite handy and fine.

Yes, I was thinking of having the Minnstf music party on Saturday, which would leave the traditional "Joel and Bruce's Birthday" slot open on Friday.

I haven't heard back on any of the 3 e-mails I've sent about Confusion to the con committee, but perhaps soon.

I'd be willing to bring along anything that can be readily taken over the border if it would help. That should cover anything but meat and fresh vegetables.

That's excellent, Diane. There's lots of things that are difficult for us to bring or get, and we're sure to want some help!

Okay then, let me know what you need a week or so ahead of time and I'll bring it along with me. I can help with set up on Saturday as well.

In addition to missing it, you were also missed at the housewarming, which was pleasantly toasty thanks mostly to the company but the two fires we had in the living room fireplace didn't hurt. The guests numbered 26, the closest of whom drove 50 miles to get here.

Once they got here, everyone starved, of course. And we have enough leftovers for another house full of fans to starve all over again today.

The red blinkie lights in the jelly rocketship lollipops are even still flashing. I love living in the future.

Speaking of the future, mark your calendars now for the May 14th weekend next spring. You can do the Brimfield antiques fair and party here all in one trip!
