Negotiators Add Abortion Clause to Spending Bill
By SHERYL GAY STOLBERG and CARL HULSE

"WASHINGTON, Saturday, Nov. 20 - House and Senate negotiators have tucked a potentially far-reaching anti-abortion provision into a $388 billion must-pass spending bill, complicating plans for Congress to wrap up its business and adjourn for the year.

The provision may be an early indication of the growing political muscle of social conservatives who provided crucial support for Republican candidates, including President Bush, in the election."

Fortunately, I do not expect to ever need an abortion.

No, that's minor leauges. And, of course, the Dems were all set to roll over for it.

No, the GOP had much bigger fish to fry. They just got caught tucking in a provision that would let certain House conference chairman have access to *any* IRS tax return, period.

They got rumbled. And, for once, the Dems aren't rolling. The house has adjourned -- but the Dems are filbustering in the Senate, and even some Thug's are looking askance at this one.

That's evil, sir -- and you can bet, even if they strike this, it'll be back. DeLay's got way too many enemies to take out to let this one fail.
