It's raining outside today, and the gold leaves are littering the streets. The small maple still has a few leaves clining to the low branches, but most have turned and fallen quite some time ago. The tall elm acrross the street sends drifts of gold leaves down to the sidewalk and street. The catalpa is still bright green and holding on to everything as it will until the first deep frost sends the leaves all at once to the ground.
