After a decade, it’s clear MnDOT didn’t ‘rethink’ Interstate 94
Almost every alternative would cost $2 billion just to rebuild an existing urban freeway with little functional improvement after years of talk and planning.

Well! I got my driver's license uncanceled today. (An errant checkbox or two on a handicapped parking application owing to my medical excitement this summer got it canceled on my birthday in December. ) The DMV wanted a letter from the doctor who filled out the handicapped form stating that I was able to drive. My doctor (and her crew) wanted me to take a OT test on driving before she'd write the letter. I done that in the waning days of December, and 'the crew' sprung into action to say the test was enuf, contrary to what the DMV had emailed me -- now I'd read the email, but kind of sorta misplaced it in the chain of events. Anyway, time dragged on to the middle of January when I had a followup visit with said doctor, and emerged with a letter. I went on the DMV website to upload the documents (including the OT test, which was probably a mistake) and discovered that I needed to wait for a snail mail authorization from the DMV to allow me to set up an account on the DMV website. (Why I did not just go to one of the DMV offices was clearly a mistake.) After I received the sekrit snailmail letter with the correct authorization to create a DMV website account, I signed in and uploaded the chain of documents—the OT test and the doctor's letter. Thirty days later, I received a slightly confusing email from the DMV that said I needed a 'Medical Form,' which I was unable to find on their website. Finally braving the DMV office, I went to the SLP DMV office with a manila envelope containing all the exciting correspondence emails, letters, and test results printed out on dead trees. After a short half-hour wait, they couldn't figure out what to do at the SLP DMV office, but they uploaded the physical letter from the doctor themselves. Nothing much happened. So, I called the DMV, waited the required half hour or so to talk with a real, live human, who proceeded to tell me I didn't have a letter from the doctor who signed the permit. After I pointed out that there were now two, count 'em, two copies of the letter from the doctor who signed the permit in my uploaded file, she said that she'd expedite the information to the relevant agents. Today I got an email pointing out that I'd uploaded the forms to the wrong category — both the SLP DMV office and me, apparently—bad us. I also received an email indicating that my DL and Real ID was uncanceled.
