Re: Uptown Woes
Speaking only for myself, I go out of my way to avoid that portion of Hennepin Ave since they made the street useless for getting to/from Uptown....

I still trek to Lunds, but there's nothing else, other than Penzey's and Hennepin Lake Liquor that are worth the hastle. Uptown's era ended quite some time ago, and it's NE & North Loops time to wear the mantle of cool and rising rents. It's now filling up with apartment dwellers who moved there 'cause it's cool, but they don't like the bars -- now mostly gone -- that made it cool because it's too noisy at closing time. Updale ain't what urban dwellers ever wanted, and now the city's trying to bury Uptown.
