The house continues in a state of disrepair. Everything is down from the third floor. The second floor is still impassible. The floors on the third floor are ready to be sanded after a bit of wall patching and some other work.

  • Ceiling

  • Counter

  • Sink (Ready to install). 3-hole and not 1, but I guess I can live with that. I canceled and reordered a different faucet for it.

  • Everything that should be in place still is not. The bathroom is scattered between two rooms. I just got a new estimate for installing the tub and (fuck, I've still to order the drain and feeder pipe...)

  • I have to find my aunt's social security number. I no longer know where anything is. Some things are buirried in a filing cabinet under this desk.

  • Have to file papers for the lot in Arizona. It was the main thing she failed to sell.

This weekend I'm off to Wiscon. Must pack, load the car and hit the road. No papers yet this morning. My day starts with papers, and when they're not there, it starts not well.

Just reading of your remodeling chaos helps me be more tolerant of my own moving chaos. I'd been reasonably good at keeping track of important papers for the first 3-3.5 months of interim living. I then reached capacity and started not being able to find things. It was a little better for the first week after I started camping out at the Zeppelin Hanger, but then I'd brought too much stuff in, in too many individual trips, and the chaos re-emerged, striving for dominance over my life.

And that's *before* the arrival of the moving truck with 8800+ pounds of my stuff. That arrives Tuesday.

Rugs delivered this morning, most new locks installed, lawn mower purchased in time for two days of rain, stairwell wallpaper stripped, upstairs hall still to go.

Et cetera.

Have a great time at WisCon, and know that you will eventually retake your home from the chaos that currently reigns.

Have fun at Wiscon!
As for the chaos, it sounds like it's a good, creative mess that will leave things better than twas when it begun. :)
