So in the morning of June 10, 2021, the max for the annular eclipse is 5:30 am, and the sun is less than one quarter covered. The sun rises at 5:26 am already occluded, maximum coverage is at 5:30 am, and it's over and done by 5:47 am. Plus, I'd hafta find my eclipse glasses.

I bought a pack of eclipse glasses last year so that I wouldn't have to worry about them being out of stock for the 2023 and 2024 eclipses. Also in case there's a nearby supernova, because I'm pretty sure you shouldn't look directly at Betelgeuse in the first week after it explodes. (No, seriously.)

I looked at the prospects for viewing today's eclipse in the Chicago area, and they were sufficiently abysmal that I passed on getting up at 5am. The entire event happened below 3 degrees altitude, and unless I drove to the lakefront, I'm not sure I could find a good enough horizon to the ENE to see any of it. If I was really dedicated, I would have gotten up at 5am several previous days and scouted, but I'm not.

Anyway, you can get 25 (good) eclipse glasses for $25 here:
