I've always been against the death penalty, but driving in Minneapolis, I find myself wavering.

Ever since the city screwed up, err, improved Lyndale, a certain subset of drivers has decided that they'll fake a right-turn at southbound Lyndale at Franklin by turning into the right-turn lane, and then rush across the intersection and cut ahead of the rest of us unwashed masses waiting to get home. I think the death penalty is too kind for these drivers. Where is the Spanish Inquisition when you need 'em?

I've also decided that since no one uses their turn signals anymore, it's kind of a blessing. You don't have to agonize over which lane of a multi-lane street to be in. It don't matter no more. People may or may not turn left or right, but they ain't gonna let you know.

Oh, and don't get me started on running red lights...

My perception is there is a lot more running of red lights, and it's much more aggressive than it was in The Good Old Days (TM).
