Oscar Picking

lsandersonI printed out some Oscar ballots and took them to the party. I beat 50%, but just barely. Thirteen right out of twenty-four. I got a few dumb luck right and a quite a few wrong. Missed director for the big awards (Bet on Boyhood instead of Birdaman... not that either movie seems to be my cup o' tea.)
The Grand Budapest Hotel did better than I'd thought. Picking up mostly 'minor' Oscars. It was fun listening to actors to see if they put "psht" in Budapest and the 'official' announcements, which did not.
Too much shtick and I'm not a fan of most of the production numbers. If they'd just done Lady Gaga and Selma's Glory, I'dda been a happy camper.
The acceptance speeches seemed less inane than usual, although all of the big winners, shoulda known they had it. More audience reactions than usual as well.
