Oh yes! Yes! YES!
Feb. 15th, 2014 05:15 pmIttsa greasy day out there. Crawling along on Crosstown, I slammed on the brakes today because the car in front of me had stopped. I discovered I was on solid ice. Fortunately, I'd left enough room between. Then a few blocks from getting off 35W, somebody with a fancy truck/SUV started doing wheelies in front of me, coming to a full stop in my lane facing the oncoming traffic. Both the car in front of me and the car behind me stopped. I switched into the far right lane, which had snow in it, and went past. The driver in the truck was trying to start it when I went past.

But the little yellow picture of a car fishtailing keeps flashing on my dashboard and my car keeps going straight. When the car salesperson mentioned that this feature came standard with the base model I yawned. I had no idea it would make so much difference.
Of course it doesn't keep SUVs from skidding out of control in front of me, so I'd better not get too cocky. Good reflexes, lsanderson.

After every big storm, the city would send sand trucks out, and they would put sand at every stop sign -- but just enough sand for two cars. The first two cars would stop on a dime and then the third car would skid into the back one...
