Yum! Figs. Excellent idea. And asparagus! Some many delicious choices.

But 41 people is a curious definition of "23 [or 26] plus or minus 3," which was the count a week ago Thursday.

Over here, the Providence in 2020 party had 12-18 different kinds of cheese, including several made from sheep's milk. I particularly liked the rosemary manchego.

The Montreal in 2017 party had crepes, and Kansas City in 2016 had caprese salad on sticks, tie-dye cake (from yours truly), and apple sweet roll from the woman who has her very own Legions of Darkness. And Harpoon's amazing variety packs in the back of the speakeasy, complete with thoroughly delicious chocolate stout.

High food values!

I was really impressed using French Comte and Swiss Gruyere. Cheese, garlic, white wine, some cornstarch, and a splash o' kirsch. (I usually -- meaning once every five years -- use Swiss Gruyere and Swiss Emmentaler.) Either I was hungrier, or the Comte and Gruyere played better together. I thought the flavor was the best I've had.

I was wondering if the numbers were off because we had two tables full for three rounds which would be more like 48. Beth and Joe missed their appt but did someone else take their spot? Still that would be 46. I self assigned to the last group so I may not have been counted.

Also I'd like more chocolate dessert now.

There was also peppers, cherry tomatoes, and mushrooms, Chocolate....raspberries, pineapple, apples and bananas.

When [livejournal.com profile] minnehaha B and I did the numbers at the end of the night, it was less than 46. At this remove I can't remember if it was 40 or 42, but it was definitely less than 46.
