l got up early today to catch Hobbit II at the Rosedale AMC theater in iMax 3-D. They had one ticket agent working which was suboptimal.
Nonetheless, I got in and got a good seat since the theater was not crowded at 9:00 am.
The trailers were not good. They started with an upcoming movie, Lone Survivor, about a Navy SEAL team's failed mission in Afghanistan. It was a bad trailer, and it was a bad trailer for a fantasy film. It then went on to Walter Mitty, and a host of other movies, one or two of which actually fit the audience. And, there was a lot of 'em. A lot of 'em in front of a long movie.
Then the main feature.
It's loong. It's a chase scene review. The end seemed better than the beginning, and there's an awful lot of an awful lot. It's very much the middle, with the plot lines for the ending sketched in. It's not quite that you need some ironing to work on, but there are times when you may be looking around for some. Make sure you have a comfortable chair and an empty bladder.
