lsandersonGoing on just across Lyndale. Wall of police cars. They towed a car out of the apartment building on the NW corner of Harriet and 28th Street. Cop car followed the tow truck. Not sure if it indicates anything. Thought about taking a picture about the time the tow truck and the cop car disappeared down 27th Street. Shooter dead. Two cops shot, and the motorcyclist the cops hit dead at 26th & Blaisdell.
I took Lake Street down to Harriet tonight rather than trying to shoot 27th Street from Nicollet. The route was clear. I could see the cop cars on 28th across Lyndale.
I'd rather Mpls finest not take out motorcyclists. It's bad for the insurance and their reputation, not to mention being kind of hard on motorcyclists. I guess having a couple of cops shot riles 'em up a wee bit.
Have not heard what the car/pedestrian chase was all about. I'm just hoping it was something serious. Not sure a "traffic stop" should account for two dead and two wounded.
