Hmmm. Wonder if he's willing to repeat the experiment with poison ivy.
After years, decades even, of avoiding such common summer problems, I managed both this summer. The bee sting was a pain for a day. The poison ivy was a major pain and annoyance for weeks. The places where it got into the spider bites are still scarred 3.5 months later.
The bee sting came the same day the Strib posted an article on bee sting care. Yes, ice helped. Wish I'd known about the toothpaste then.
It's been the best summer I can remember having, oh, ever, quick probably. The only one that came close was the summer of '76, which I spent on a 10,000+ mile driving/camping trip around the country. This year had elements of that (a 26-day, 4,000+ mile driving trip east), and a lot more keen variety, too. Weird that it also included the poison ivy/bee sting doubleheader, given how non-present both have been in my adult life.
