The Torcon Dead Dog Party, held on Monday, September 1, 2003 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, was hosted by Minneapolis in '73. On behalf of Minneapolis in ’73 and Minicon 39:

First, I want to thank everyone who helped with the party, particularly, Geri Sullivan, Doug Friauf, Neil Rest, Diane Lacey, Ctein, Mark Richards, Lynn Anderson, and Polly Peterson, all of whom helped considerably throughout the party. I’d also like to thank our splendid at-party volunteers, including two wonderful ladies -- one of whom had a first name of Christine (I'm pretty sure she was the one from Toledo). I’d also like to thank, Jeff Schalles for the Minn-stf logo sign, Chuck Holst and Jeff for the case of photos from the original post-supporting Minneapolis in '73 party at Torcon 2, which were greatly enjoyed at the Torcon 3 party. I’d also like to thank a host of other people who worked throughout the party and helped set it up and tear it down, including Catherine Crockett, and others whose names I have not already mentioned.

Second, I would like to thank the bartenders who beat back the ravaging hoards by handing out beers, hard liquor and wine over the course of the night, Cliff, Clay, and Sandra Childress, and others whose names I have forgotten.

Third, I must apologize that I forgot to pack shoehorns and subway packers so that I could fit more people into the suite of rooms.

Fourth, I would like to thank the Torcon convention partiers who consumed vast quantities of food and beverage. They seemed to be having a really great time, or at least were pretending to so as not to hurt our feelings. The last person seen leaving, who had been asleep on the couch earlier, left somewhere between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m., shortly before Catherine Crockett and I could devise suitable ways to wake him.

Fifth, I'd like to thank the staff of the Royal York Hotel, who carted off vast amounts of recyclables and garbage, bravely threading their way through packed corridors of nattering and smoffing fans, and who put up with open doors, music, and vast amounts of conversation emanating from the first floor until well past the wee hours of the morning. The Royal York Hotel also agreed to move left over party supplies to Food Shelves and other suitable destinations, and for that, I thank them as well.

Sixth, I'd like to thank the Gedney Pickle Company (http://www.gedneypickle.com/products/pickles.htm) for donating hats, Spring Rolls (http://www.springrollsonline.com) where I purchased vast quantities of spring rolls, fried wontons, and chicken sate, Loblaws (http://www.loblaws.com) where I purchased bread, cold cuts, and beverages.

Seventh, I'd like to thank Torcon for providing the suites, and for the excuse to hold a party, all of the convention goers who attended the party, and all of the party crews at Torcon who donated to the Dead Dog Party:
