Vichyssoise once seemed the height of sophistication, something served only in French restaurants, and serious ones at that. It turns out, however, that cold leek-and-potato soup — which is an American invention, by the way — is just cooking-from-the-garden stuff, as simple as it gets. Moar

As a serious, long-time soup fan, I just never could enjoy putting a spoonful of cold, in my mouth. Maybe I should say, "not hot" instead of "cold", but you get my meaning.

Since I was a kid, I always preferred the broth on what soups my Mom cooked.
And then there were her home-made tomato soups with the tomatoes she canned in quart jars, in the fall.

I found I liked Child's cold cucumber soup and went on from there. I'm not a big fan of the scandihoovian cold fruit soups.
