BOSTON — Gazing upward I can see the skylines of Cambridge and Boston on the horizon as twilight falls. In the growing hush of full darkness, more than 9,000 stars appear, with so many gradations of intensity that binoculars can reveal more detail than the naked eye. And as I lean back in cushioned comfort, I am gradually swept off into the heavens. More
