Are we surprised? Still; I'd like to see that broken down: how do the statistics for gun owners who have taken safety courses, etc, compare to those who haven't? Gun owners of different age brackets, education, marital status, etc?

Interesting. Statistically it looks mostly likely for a person to get shot if he is black, male, unmarried and makes less than $9,000.

So what is the Minicon/MnStf policy on guns at meetings? I imagine they're different, depending upon the host...

There was a bit of discussion at our house, and the few who were in the discussion thought (unanimously, IIRC) that this is like smoking--individual hosts may allow or prohibit.

J. and I aren't sure what we'll do. I know that at least one person probably has carried a concealed weapon (legally) into our house in the past. However, at least one of our adult (counting over-18) children strongly favors prohibition here, and it's their house, too. We're still discussing. (Those who know J. and me well will not be surprised.)
