I don't think I'm more knowledgeable about current events than I thought; I think my perfect score on the quiz is more a sign that the bar is low, nobody expects people to know much about current events.
Those questions weren't nearly as stupid as they might have been. I am often tripped up by ambiguous questions. I'm mildly surprised to have gotten all of them right. Ten years ago I certainly would not have gotten an equivalent set right.
I missed three of them -- or, significantly, two -- I don't consider what phone system Google uses to be a valid question, probably because I'm not a Geek (or phone-user). What startles me is that, even with three wrong out of ten, I'm better than 85% of the responders.
