Last Minicon meeting, which I missed. I went to Dim Sum with Minnehaha and some friends of theirs. David and Laura wuz supposed to join us, but they did not.

Minnehaha beat me there -- the place is just up the street from my house -- and we sat for quite some time before anybody else arrived. A few phone calls later, and there were seven of the nine we were supposed to be.

We ate lottsa stuff. It all tasted wonderful. >

Suddenly, after we paid around 12:00, I started to feel unwell. Quite unwell. Dizzy. I got to my car, cracked a few windows, and felt worse. Much worse. I drove home and sat in the car in the drive way. I opened the door of the car and threw up. Several times. I stumbled into the house, up the stairs, and assumed a drinker's position around the toilet. About 2:38, I stumbled into the office, got the phone list and called Laura Jean to say I was not going to be at the 2:00 Minicon meeting. I moved from the bathroom into the bedroom. With a bucket. Although, I didn't throw up any more and I started to feel better. David stopped by around 4 or 5 and we screwed around printing out the program book. I didn't go help Minnehaha move furniture, and I didn't make the birthday party, or visit my aunt. Instead, I just laid in bed. I did drink a can of ice tea around 8:00, and ate some food afterwards.

I'm going to assume it was food poisoning, although no body else got sick. It was mild as far as food poisoning goes, but I've never been that dizzy with it before. Had it once in Greece on Crete. Once from my brother's former wife after Thanksgiving from turkey, gave it to myself once (no idea what it was from), and now this latest episode. I'm going to suspect the snails. It didn't involve the usual waves of heat/cold/vomiting that I've had from previous versions, and I was incredibly dizzy through the whole episode between 12:00 and 2:30. I should have asked Minnehaha to drive me home and throw me in the bathtub. I've gone to the Emergency Room twice for food poisoning. It ain't worth it.

Wow.

What could it possibly have been? We're all fine.

If I had to guess, it would be one of the snails or clams. That's the only food we had with discrete enough components to affect one of us and not all of us.

Or maybe it was the previous night's meal?

Glad you're feeling better.

I'm betting on the snails. I had a broken one that I tried to get out of the shell. Probably not, in retrospect, a wise idea, but it seemed as if it might be easier than the other ones. Off hand, I'd guess staphylococci toxin. The good thing about it, while it makes me sicker than a dog, the effect does not last long. I'm glad nobody else came down with anything.

Yow... Larry.

I'm glad it passed so quickly, and yes. You should have had one of us drive you home! Could it possibly be an MSG reaction?

It was not MSG. I'm sticking with the staph.
