The Atlas Of Redistricting
By Aaron Bycoffe, Ella Koeze, David Wasserman and Julia Wolfe
There’s a lot of complaining about gerrymandering, but what should districts look like? We went back to the drawing board and drew a set of alternative congressional maps for the entire country. Each map has a different goal: One is designed to encourage competitive elections, for example, and another to maximize the number of majority-minority districts. See how changes to district boundaries could radically alter the partisan and racial makeup of the U.S. House — without a single voter moving or switching parties.

This atlas allows you to view the nation or individual states under different redistricting scenarios -- from fully Republican gerrymandered to fully Democratic gerrymandered -- and shows what the results would be. It also displays current redistricting and several other methods for redistricting and their results.

So off we go to get some cash for Someone's trip to Asia. To a bank I've had accounts at for quite some number of years. I write a check on a brokerage account, with enough cash in the checking account to cover it. The teller asks what my occupation is. "Nothing" I say. Apparently their software won't let her enter that or "Other."

The manager comes over and asks what I used to work at, "for a federal requirement" and I said "No." They handed back the check and IDs. And we're out the door, off to another bank.

I hand the same check to the teller, who asks if I tried to cash it before. But, she took it anyway. The teller machine wouldn't take my pin number. Don't ask me why. No occupation question.
