I made my annual pilgrimage and blood-letting expedition to my doctor yesterday. (My company changed and changed insurance companies, and I'm running out of drugs.) They called to ask me to come in early and bring my insurance card. I went early and brought the new insurance card. "Are you sure?" the receptionist asked. "I just processed something for you on the old insurance yesterday." I did not figure the one or two quick come-backs were worth it so I said nothing. The receptionist asked me to talk to their insurance specialist, where I again produced the clean new card, which she gingerly fingered before typing at her computer. "Where is your company located?" she asked. "What do you mean?" I think she asked the same question again and I said "Bloomington." "Ok" she said, not questioning why it was an Illinois BCBS card...
