The Grey Lady seems to be slinking like a rough beast. The columnists, Dowd, Friedman, and the utter hacks, Brooks and Kristol, have passed banal and kept on going. I let my subscription lapse this year, primarily to save ~$500, but the lady has become a bit of a tart. Even the food section seems to have become bland.
