After Tulum
Feb. 11th, 2006 06:16 amAfter we got back from Tulum, not much was accomplished. Karen went off to read e-mail. Judy slept, Myra stayed in the room and read. I went with Karen and then went to the pool and the walked along the beach. There was a wedding being held on the beach, in slightly high winds, that was setup by the time I got there. They tied white bows on the palm trees, used palm fronds as a carpet, and put white covers on all the chairs. Four large logs supported a glass top for the alter. I watched a bit of the photography, but wandered up the beach (towards Cancun) while the actual wedding occurred.
The waves were high, and it was good for pictures. I carried my shoes and walked along the sand where there was sand and retreated to further inland where there were only rocks. The coast is mostly limestone, heavily pitted and cratered. Where the rock's exposed, lots of tide pools and errosion. I watched two people in a kayak bounce up and down amongst the waves.
