My sister and cousin arrive today from Fargo. Off to see James Taylor tonight in St. Paul. Dinner with Karen and Myra and visits with my aunt.

Uptown Art Fair; Powderhorn Art Fair; Loring Park Art Fair

This is the tripple witching weekend for art fairs in our fair cities.

Uptown Art Fair sets like a motherhen clogging Uptown and turning it into a suburban housewife magnet. It's huge, it's hot, and it's very, very expensive and packed full o' junk.

Powderhorn Art Fair is the alternative art fair. It's cooler around Powderhorn Lake in Powderhorn Park.

Loring Park Art Fair -- ever since they cut the bushes in the park to reduce sex and queer-bashing, Loring Park has lost it's focus (except for the weekend of Gay Pride). This weekend, it's try, try again with various vendors. It's relaxing after Uptown, but I've not seen much to make me want to part with money.

The lot at Wabun Picnic Area costs .50/hour this year.
Last year, the city park lots were free; this year, they are not.
