Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, same story, different year.
There was a big article in the Sunday NY Times Magazine about the increased stratification of wealth in America. It's apparently real, in spite of all the denials from up above. And the Bushies are doing everything they can to make it worse. Article.
Busy day yesterday. Went out and cooked breakfast for my aunt after helping her down the stairs. Bought some organic orange juice and fancy pastries at the Wedge on the way out. (Cherry cream cheese danish and a coffee/pistachio thingie). I also got her and apple dumpling, but she was going to eat that later. Made coffee, bacon and eggs, then dashed home to set up for the Minicon meeting.
The Minicon meeting had a good attendance, and we seemed to hit a bunch of fertile ground. The food mostly got consumed, even if the fire didn't get going on schedule. Didn't overbake the orange rolls too much, even if I didn't get those key limes turned into pies.
Then, off to Michael's birthday party an hour and a half late. Home again by 8:30 or so when I tried to read the Sunday papers. Somehow, they're just not as exciting at the end of the day.
