I was trapped between a truly awful president, an awful dating show with heterosexuals, and the original Antiques Roadshow. I almost wore my fingers to the bone. I now know more about an Irish painter than I'd ever imagined possible. I did get John M. Ford's short read in Asimov's, and a few other stories while I was reclining in the Eames. Of course, I coulda gone downstairs and put in a switch or two, but no, I sat there like a fly trapped in a spider web and watched an awful man perform moral slights-of-hand and put-downs. And even Oliphant (I think that's his name) gushed afterwards, who I thought had some sense.
