We're putting on a new roof. Hope it does not rain this October much. Layering some insulation underneath to do away with or cut down on the ice dams. Don't have a full sense of how it will look yet, four or more inches higher than the current roof line. Warmer, I hope, and less use of the heating cables we've got strung out on every corner of the house's roof. I hope, I hope, I hope.

Still trying to give away a dracaena marginata -- Tony might take it if he can find a way to move it over to his place. Carol might as well. I hope somebody does before it frosts in the back yard.

Kelly's doing a party at his suburban abode Saturday, but I've got a ticket to the Walker that night for a conversation between Hanif Kureishi and A. O. Scott, the NY Times' movie critic, and an invitation to a party in Wisconsin as well. How come most times, I would have nothing to do?

Tonight is the new Star Trek, but I think I'm gonna tape it.

Well, it was Star Trek with manly nekkid chests and female Vulcan nipples. Cute blue underwear on the Captain, but no bare chest for him. Few leg shots though. To barely go where few have gone before? Hmm... keep that camera lower, please.

I enjoyed it. Fun romp. Hope it holds up under the weight of the story lines heading off before it.
