Last Night Some of the Usual Suspects...

Last night was a small dinner for buttonlass. Some of the usual suspects gathered in honor of her visit and to look for her lost voice.

It was one o' those days:

First: Cannelini beans with frisee, home-made goat ricotta on toast buttonlass's

Second: Avocado & Cucumber Cold Soup - mizzlaurajean's

Third: Instant Civiche (Sea Scallops & Cod Cheeks) - lsanderson & minnehaha k's

Fourth: Mussels - minnehaha k's

Fifth: Roasted Brussels Sprouts - Sarah & lakeboy_55

Sixth: Lamb Chops with French Peas, Radish, and Pea Shoots - minnehaha b's


Seventh: Spoiled Milk Products: bkremser & Bob -

Eighth: Rhubarb pie with homemade vanilla ice cream is invisible because we ate it so fast (just to make sure the ice cream didn't melt) that I did not have time to take a picture. It had nothing at all to do with the bottles of wine we drank with each course...

I do think I need more practice with the phone's camera...

It's not a phone camera issue, it's an available light issue. The camera likely uses a contrast-based focusing system, with an auto-timeout. If there's not enough light, the focus doesn't lock, and you wind up with wonky pictures. (If the sources of light don't match, you also get wonky colours.)

Maybe, but the light remained fairly constant, or at best decreased over the course of the meal. It's definitely got a speed issue (sloow or it blurs), and the two LEDs don't quite make a flash flash...

It may be that I'm moving too much and a point & shoot compensates better. It'd probably work better if I just looked at the picture closer after I take it.
