This would never have happened if the torys were the offended party (beacuse their members are so far in the closet the light never shines on them.

Maybe I am misreading this but it sounds to me like some staff were jerks and now the pub and the staff involved are about to pay the price which seems appropriate. The fact the pub is waving the flag is telling in a good way.
