One o' Mpls Finest
Jan. 9th, 2010 04:37 pmWas subsiding his city police salary with a wee little bit o' bank robbery, and stashing the cash in his police locker. I'm going to guess the guy ain't the Einstein o' bank robbers, nor the Bonnie or Clyde. The first clue I had about it was the Nixle.com email blast which mumbled on about good cops and bad cops and how even a bad cop gets arrested by the good cop. Mind you, it did not have a lotta details, nor did it have the terse details I would expect from an email blast service, or at least one that was trying to do more than just cover its ass. I think I've whinged once or twice before about how they offer the service as a community involvement aid when you sign up, and then shortly afterwards, you discover it's the junior Goebbels propaganda and PR service of the Police Chief and Hennepin County Sheriff.
Hi Larry,
Community Message has been issued by the Minneapolis Police Department.

A message from Chief Tim Dolan in response to the arrest of Officer Carson.
On behalf of Chief Dolan;
We go through great effort and expense to hire and train the best candidates as police officers because of the trust society grants those with a badge. We know a few will fail. However, not even that reality can mitigate the shock and embarrassment of allegations of criminal behavior. This does tarnish the badge. However, please remember that it was people who wear that badge, including MPD officers, who made this arrest and brought this case to a conclusion. – Chief Timothy J. Dolan
