lsandersonE-mailed sick to work this morning. Head cold coming on. I've been trying to dodge it for several days, but it's finally latched on to the point where I can't claim it's allergies anymore.
Ran around after work last night to buy beans, butter (which they had to pry out of the cooler in back because they were out of unsalted in the front), lemons (which Thong assures me I did not need to buy because we already had ten), a nice light oil (which I could not find there so I finally ended up at Lunds), lettuce, almond slivers, tangerines, and oranges. They had almost all the lanes of checkouts working, so I made it out of the store in record time. Then I drove to Hennepin Lake Liquor and bought some wine. They're having a wine sale, and the small store was packed. It's very much like a New York City liquor store -- small foot print, wine and booze stacked almost to the ceiling. After spending waay too much money on wine for Thanksgiving, I ran home and called my aunt and asked if she wanted some company for a bit. I grabbed a bowl of Thong's chicken soup -- with rice noodles, chicken and bamboo, a piece of pita bread and a few smoked almonds, then ran out to Golden Valley.
My aunt had a twin bed brought into the main floor of her townhouse. A friend had made it into a daybed, which looked nice, but really wasn't very useful for my aunt. I unloaded the dishwasher, undid the daybed, and then we sat and watched Judging Amy and the Tuesday night cop show that she taped during Judging Amy.
After the cop show, I ran home and stopped at Lunds to buy some almond oil for the Thanksgiving salad. At home I unloaded the wine and cider from the car, read my e-mail and hopped into bed.

Date: 2002-11-27 04:47 pm (UTC)It has allowed me to see three of the four DVDs in the FotR. Woohoo! Plus have an absolutely innane conversation with work about where something was stored. I should have gone in and gotten it, but midway through the movie, I resisted. I doubt anybody is going to look at a piece between now and Monday anyway. Of course, I've been wrong before. They ended up decompiling an older help file to recreate the piece. It's not fun to do that over the phone.
