If I've got this right:

1. It's peachy keen for Bush and Cheney to torture dark skinned men.
2. It's all Nancy Pelosi's fault because she didn't stop them.

#2 is more like "if she objects, she should have objected back then."

Not that I'm really that concerned with fairness to our former arachnid overlords.

You left out that it was peachy keen for Bush and Cheney to lie about anything they wanted, but Clinton and Pelosi should be burned at the stake for the possibility of lying.

Ah, yes -- you understand the Conservative/Republican reasoning, at least well enough to put it into words. Not that it makes _sense_, as far as I'm capable of figuring things out, but I've come to think that the Conservative and Liberal concepts of rationality are remarkably different.

Though not at all a fan of Pelosi, I think inadequate allowance has been made for the fallibility of human memory, and for the possibility that she was "briefed" inadequately &/or deliberately deceptively. The latter would certainly fit the pattern of that era.

I believe Pelosi (1) had signed a security document that forbid her to talk about these matters, which she took seriously and (2) if she had dared bring it up back then, the next plane she flew on would have mysteriously crashed...

(1) has been mentioned in recent punditry
(2) is how Cheney deals with people who get in his way
