No, Larry, I am _not_ going to /m/a/k/e/ try to make one of those. Buying one or two, or even just large photographs of them, on the other hand....
I'm not sure which fascinates me most about Boyer -- his ability to make such things, or the kind of mind that can design them. Not to mention my opinion that he's one of the most talented writers of informal prose I've come across in several years. (And a quite-Fannish writer at that -- I'm especially taken by his suggestion about scaling-up one of the designs to use a VW Bug as the operating weight.)
