Nov. 4th, 2002 05:56 pmChecked out of the ConSuite at the Hilton this morning. I was going to come straight home, but fell prey to Geri's suggestions and went to Aquavit for lunch.
Geri finished much of the putting away last night. The Dead-Dog party lasted far into the night, although Jack and I gave it up around 2:00 a.m. My feet hurt, and I think Jack's did too.
We, Susan, Laura, Geri, Jack, Joe, and Andrew put out a good ConSuite for World Fantasy. We feed them sixty (mumble) varieties of stinky cheese. Many choice bheers, and I only lament that we didn't go through all of the kegs I thought we would, or all the bottled bheer we ordered.
1. We couldn't give Sprite away. Send it off to a party, and it came back, sometimes with 7-Up.
2. We gave out 60 cases of water. Carrying each one into the pre-cooler, chopping it out of the two layers of plastic and popping it into the ice.
3. We gave out about 35 cases of Coke.
4. We gave out about 20 cases of Diet Coke.
5. We gave out some Barq's Root Bheer.
6. It took us two days to almost go through a keg of Boddington's.
7. It took us two days to almost go through a keg of Woodchuck. Woodchuck is sweeter than Woodpecker cider.
8. Paulaner Oktoberfest bheer is quite good.
9. CO2 tanks leave nasty rings on wood floors.
10. Going for four nights on a few hours of sleep each tends to make me crabby.
11. Latest I got to the ConSuite: Sunday, 10:30 a.m.
12. Latest I left the ConSuite: Saturday, 5:30 a.m.
13. The number of panels I attended at WFC: 0
14. Food vendors for WFC: Luce Pizza, The King & I, Shuang Cheng. Hilton Hotels, Byerly's, Surdyk's, Trader Joe's, and Cub Foods.
15. Liquor vendors: Broadway Liquor. Russ and Dean rock
16. This election is going to suck!
Must sleep soon.

Date: 2002-11-04 04:13 pm (UTC)I didn't actually ask about it, but you know how fans are: picky, bitchy, and obsessive. Thus, it was obviously perfect!

By God, we tried!
Date: 2002-11-04 07:01 pm (UTC)The water was inspired. That hotel was DRY. 24 hours after getting home and my lips are still chapped!
Can't help you with mystery of the Sprite though. Sorry.
GREAT Consuite!! Thanks!

Date: 2002-11-06 07:24 am (UTC)I should have done more at the con (no panels for me either), but ended up here at home with ear and sinus infections. Today my eyes are lurking red.
Hope you're catching up on sleep - especially after the election.

Date: 2002-11-07 08:07 am (UTC)Great consuite, did I say? Though when people kept saying "fondue," I kept thinking "cheese." First time in my life I've ever been severely disappointed by chocolate!
