This should be illegal, if it isn't already, trying to collect debts that are not legally owed. And the people who run this company are slime. I've heard about this sort of thing before.

Not that there's anybody I'm related to that I'd like dead, and that appears to be a necessary precondition; but I must admit I'd sort of enjoy talking to some of these people in their professional capacity some day.
